Why we built Commander

For years WebPro was an agency, and we were the memory every AI tool forgot. Commander is what we needed — and we run our own clients on it first.

For years, WebPro was an agency. Websites, Google Business Profiles, and ads for small and mid-sized businesses — the kind where a missed call is a missed job. To do the fulfillment, we pieced together a bunch of different software, and none of it did quite what our clients kept asking for. The work was real. So was the re-briefing.

Every client has a hundred small facts that decide whether the work is good: the services they actually want to sell, the neighborhoods they'll drive to, the tone the owner will tolerate in a review reply, the offer that worked last spring and the one that didn't. In an agency, that knowledge lives in people. When a person is out, the knowledge is out.

When AI tools arrived, we tried all of them. They wrote fine posts and decent ad copy. And every single one forgot the client the moment the task ended. We were still the memory — now with a faster typist. That isn't leverage. It's the same bottleneck with a chat window.

So we wrote down what we actually needed:

  • A memory per client that the tools share. Not a prompt we paste. A living record of the business — facts, brand, history, results — that every task reads from and adds to. We call it the Second Brain.
  • Specialists, not a generalist. The work has shapes. A website build is not a review reply is not a budget change. Each needs its own tools, its own checks, its own definition of done. Website Architect, GBP Specialist, Ad Specialist, The Pulse.
  • A human in command. Substantial work is only useful if nothing public happens without a yes. Every publish, spend, and reply lands in a queue first. Approve, edit, or send it back — and the system learns from the answer.

So we finally decided to build our own platform — one that actually does the things our clients have always asked for. That's Commander. It runs our own clients first, which is the only honest way to build a tool for agencies. When something is annoying, we feel it before you do.

Client work is still most of what we do: websites, SEO, Google Business Profiles and Maps, ads on Google, Microsoft and Meta, and custom software. It keeps the product honest, and we like the work.

If you run an agency and you're tired of being the memory, take a look at Commander. If you run a business and want people on it, talk to us.
